 For 124 years since its founding, The Eighteenth Bank, Ltd. has been one of the foremost banks in Kyushu. We have a solid network of 116 branches, with 105 branches, including our head office, in our traditional base of Nagasaki Prefecture, and 11 branches in nearby Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Yamaguchi Prefectures, as well as in the major cities of Tokyo and Osaka. We aim to surpass our current standards of excellence, bolster our position of dominance within the region and enhance the already high degree of trust placed in us by our customers.
As of March 31, 2001, the Bank held deposits of ¥1.7 trillion (US$14,122 million) and total assets of ¥2.1 trillion (US$16,862 million) on a consolidated basis. We have maintained the soundness of our operations and achieved a term-end capital ratio of 10.17% in accordance with domestic standards.
